Azmera SOUTH AFRICA 2026 | Prayer Calendar (April 26 - May 3)
Welcome to the last week of praying for your South Africa Haven Retreat! We are so grateful for you and the time you have given and continue to give to pray with us.
Sunday, April 26
The South Africa Haven Retreat ends today! Pray for the women as they gather together once more to pray, worship, listen, and encourage one another. Ask for there to be a continued sense and awareness of God’s presence, power, and protection over and among this group of women. Pray for the Connection Crew as they facilitate one last discussion and time of prayer, as they continue to connect with and encourage the women they encounter, that they would be well-rested and willing to act and speak as the Lord leads.
Pray for R and her desire for spiritual renewal, for her to make time to connect with the Lord on a regular basis and be intentional about her walk with Him. Ask that she would be able to be still and allow the noise around her to fade away so that she can hear the Lord’s voice more clearly. Pray that as she walks in this season of renewal, she would feel a shift within her heart, spirit, and mind of perspective, truth, and hope for who she is and the things yet to come.
Pray for K and her desire for more wisdom and knowledge as she works with women, to be able to meet them where they’re at with love, kindness, and compassion. Pray for her relationship with her daughter, that the time they spent together during the Haven Retreat would fill both their hearts with hope and goodness and would be something they continue to build on for the future. Ask also for healing from food sensitivities and intolerances, for God to heal her gut and bring her body into wholeness and alignment.
Pray for IG and her desire to have a fruitful year with a deeper connection to God, for her to make time to connect with Him and bring her heart and prayers before Him in safe and holy ways. Ask for her to have focus, dedication, and an improvement in her studies this year, that as she applies herself, she will see God with her and will have peace and excitement about the things she is learning and the things in store for her in the future. Pray for her parents to trust the Lord as He leads them in ministry decisions and direction, for them to also see the fruit of the work of their hands as they follow His leading.
Pray for J and this new season she is in, for there to be peace in her heart with a new move and the transitions and adjustments that come along with change. Pray she would be sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit as He speaks to her, leading and giving guidance. Ask that she would be excited to follow obediently, with hope, and trust as He shows her new areas of life, growth, and where His presence is waiting for her.
Pray for J as she is asking for more volunteers to help with the small agricultural community where she lives. Pray she would trust the Lord’s timing and provision, not just with volunteers but also with ministry replacements for her as she looks ahead to retiring within the next five years. Ask for her to stay focused and walk in faith during this season of preparation for transitions.
Pray for C and the hearing loss she is currently experiencing in her left ear. Ask for patience and trust as she asks God for healing, for His healing to be timely and complete, revealing His glory and goodness to her and those around her. Pray for wisdom and discernment as they also trust the Lord’s leading as they relocate and deal with the transition and adjustment that that brings.
Monday, April 27
Pray for S as she spends two weeks of every month traveling, for safety and protection over her on the road. Pray for her to make habits of rest and quiet, even as she is away from home, for her to know refreshment in the midst of travel and ministry engagements. Ask for her to be encouraged and blessed as much as she encourages those she interacts with in her time away from home.
Pray for C Fransisca to find time and make it a regular routine to step back from things and spend time with the Lord, with the intent to find rest and renew her strength and focus. Ask that she would be intentional about staying healthy and focusing on her physical needs as well as the spiritual and emotional. Pray for good connections and partnerships in ministry and for good community and support personally.
Pray for Daisy as she continues to seek direction, leading, and to know peace in the path she’s on, specifically for what she needs to do regarding staying in ministry or leaving. Pray for clarity, trust, and excitement to follow what God has laid on her heart, whatever that may look like. Ask for protection over her heart and mind as she walks where the Lord leads.
Pray for Gertrude as she asks God to provide a home for her to own, that as she waits, she will see how and where God is at work in her life, for her good. Ask for good friendships and community in her life, as she is apart from her family and experiences loneliness. Pray for continued rest and renewal.
Pray for Danielle as she grieves the loss of her mother and trusts God to care for her father as she has returned to her country of service. Pray for her as she focuses on work, ministry, and the relationships in her life, for her to know God in new and deeper ways in this season of life. Ask for moments of delight, hope, and joy as she loves those around her.
Pray for Merlyn as she adjusts to being a single mother after a long and painful divorce. Ask for healing, hope, and rest as she walks a new path and continues to find who she is apart from her marriage, for the healing and wholeness God has in store for her from years of living in a toxic and abusive relationship. Pray for her three children as they adjust to a new way of life, that there would be hope, healing, and trust in each of their hearts and minds.
Tuesday, April 28
Pray for the South Africa Connection Crew as they begin their journey home, for protection and safety over each woman and the travels that lie ahead. Pray for rest, space to process and connect with the Lord, and excitement to return home to families, jobs, and the responsibilities they left behind. Pray for the women who attended as they get back into the swing of jobs, ministries, and family life, for the things they learned, heard, and experienced to stay rooted in their hearts and minds and to continue to change and encourage them.
Pray for Marelize as she hopes to find a local church to partner with, which will see and embrace the vision she has for her community. Pray for her ministry with YWAM, that she would be focused and willing to help out and ask for help from those around her as needed. Ask that she would walk with the Lord with a deep trust and faith in His goodness and provision for her.
Pray for Julie and the heavy burdens she is carrying for her family. Pray for moments of rest and relief from the darkness they are experiencing, that they would see the Light of Jesus breaking through and providing hope, truth, and relief. Ask for wisdom in leading their children towards healing and wholeness through the various struggles and challenges they are facing.
Pray for Rene as she desires a fresh vision and focus in her life, as well as physical health and being well. Ask that she would have solid and healthy friendships and support around her to encourage her in her walk with the Lord. Pray for her to make time to rest in the presence of God on a regular basis, to know His Light and goodness, and to be continually renewed and changed by the time she spends with Him.
Pray for Sylwia as she desires to spend time with the Lord on a daily basis, that she would be aware of how she is spending her time and would take necessary steps to include time with the Lord. Pray she would be filled to overflowing as she sits with Him and listens to the words of life and truth He speaks to her.
Pray for Jackie as she juggles a lot of responsibilities and wears many hats for many different people in her life, while trying to navigate grief and support, and feeling tired and worn out. Ask for people in her life to come alongside her and offer help and relief from the things she is carrying, that she would be willing to accept the help and know moments of peace and rest. Pray for healing over her son, who experiences seizures, for wisdom in medications and trust in God’s healing and timing.
Pray for Susan and her desire to see God increase more and more in her life, as she steps back to allow space for Him to be known more. Pray for her to be intentional about the time she spends with Him, that it would be regular and life-giving, for her to be able to see where God is making Himself known to and in her, and would be delighted and filled with a new trust and faith in Him. Ask for her to be able to see the fruit of the work God is doing in her life.
Wednesday, April 29
Pray for Manju as she desires to be the best wife and mother that she can, for her to trust God with the gifts and abilities He’s given her, and to know that her best will look different every day. Pray for grace, compassion, kindness, and understanding to cover her heart and mind as she loves those around her with the love Jesus has given her. Ask for wisdom and peace as she walks in a new discipleship ministry, giving of herself to the women in her life; pray she would share and speak boldly in truth and love.
Pray for Valerie-Gail and the ministry she is starting for women in a retirement community. Ask for the time and space needed to interact with these women, as she comes alongside them and learns to meet them where they’re each at. Pray for protection and grace over her as she spends time with them, and for boldness and lightness of tongue and heart as she shares the love of Jesus with those around her.
Pray for Erin to have a fresh perseverance and focus in ministry, that the things she heard and experienced at the Haven Retreat will be planted deep within her to give her a new joy and hope for the things she is involved in. Pray for provision of local partnerships for her ministry, to have good people to work with and support that will go both ways. Ask that she would continue to trust in God’s faithful goodness as she asks boldly for things not just in ministry but in her personal life and desires as well.
Pray for Carol and her husband as they wind down their time on the mission field and look forward to what is yet to come. Ask for healing and protection over her husband’s health, as he has experienced struggles and a decline in health, that God would sustain Him and give him the strength, energy, and endurance he needs to finish the next two years well. Pray she would be able to support and encourage him, and be bold in filling in the gaps as God leads her.
Pray for Michelle as she is in a season of transition and change, that she would trust God to be with her in all things and in ways she may not even realize she needs. Pray for her heart as she processes this year, the changes she has and is experiencing, and the hope of what is yet to come. Ask for her to be able to see the reflection of God in and through her as she walks in faith in this season.
Pray for Cami as she recognizes the tiredness and weariness in her heart and soul, as she has had many years of a heavy workload, which does not seem to be letting up, and has even added more to what she is doing. Ask for wisdom in navigating a move and the responsibilities that are coming her way, for her to have the presence of mind and boldness to say “no” and begin creating new boundaries for herself so that she can find rest and hope on a daily basis.
Thursday, April 30
Pray for Brook as she is involved in leadership trainings on a regular basis, offering teaching and presence to women in different life and ministry stages. Pray for her as she juggles many tasks and responsibilities, that she would also make time for herself to rest and connect with the Lord and with her friends and community. Ask that she would experience a new joy and hope as she looks ahead towards the things still to come this year.
Pray for Renatta as she needs refreshing and rest after over 11 years in a challenging situation. Ask that she would be willing to let the Lord speak truth to her, to offer her relief, and to be bold in accepting the invitation He extends to step out of the places she is in and into places of rest and light. Pray for peace and protection over her as she trusts the Lord and His goodness and would be obedient to follow as He leads, especially when she can’t see what the end looks like.
Pray for Janice and her desire for wisdom in her relationships with her daughter-in-law and future daughter-in-law, for her to have a depth of sensitivity, kindness, and compassion beyond what she’s known before. Pray for her to give space for her family members to grow and learn their relationships on their own, that she would be supportive and a source of love and encouragement. Ask for healing and restoration for sibling relationships in her family, for there to be truth, honesty, and love in conversations that would lead to reconciliation and new life within this family.
Pray for Ann and the work she is doing with children and youth with disabilities, for the stigma and the challenges they and their families and caregivers face on a regular basis. Ask that she would be a bridge for this community and those around them, to teach and show others how to love and give support and acceptance to those who have differences from their own.
Pray for Annemieke to have experienced depth and the goodness of Jesus at the Haven Retreat, that as she gets back into the swing of things she left at home, she would do so with a new perspective and view of herself, her family, and life. Pray for her to continue to walk in a state of rest and renewal, for her to make time with the Lord a consistent part of her daily routines.
Pray for Michele as she looks ahead to turning 50 this year, for the hopes and dreams she has for this new season for herself and her family as she raises four children. Ask for wisdom, compassion, and grace for herself and those she ministers to and walks alongside, that she would give freely from the goodness God has given to her. Pray for her as she longs to surrender and give away the fear she carries, especially regarding her children, for her to know a deep and new trust and faith in God and His presence, protection, and faithfulness in her life.
Friday, May 1
Pray for Tracy to experience full healing over the chronic, unexplained back pain she has been living with the past two years. Pray for God’s healing over her, completely, beautifully, and miraculously. Ask for her to have a new mindset and perspective after knowing many physical, mental, and emotional challenges recently, that she would find joy and grace in each day as she sees the work and goodness of God all around her.
Pray for Ruthinia and the ministry she’s involved in that has experienced a season of much turmoil, stress, and unknowns. Ask for a deeper sense and knowledge of God’s guiding as they trust Him to provide and give the perseverance and perspective they need to continue the work at hand in a healthy and whole way. Pray she would be sensitive to the Lord’s voice and would be obedient to follow and act as He leads.
Pray for Peris to know God’s presence with her in the many areas of her life - job, marriage, and motherhood. Pray she would be confident in knowing His voice and following as He leads, to trust Him with the daily rhythms and the bigger picture of her life. Ask for healing and wholeness for her and her family.
Pray for Lorna as she learns to trust God to be her provision in all things, from support and finances for ministry and for her daily life. Ask that she would be able to see where God is at work and how He is providing, and would know a deeper faith because of what she sees. Pray that God would fulfill and answer the desires of her heart for a partner and marriage, for her to be patient and trust God’s timing and provision.
Pray for Refiloe and the need her family has for a home, that they would trust God and for Him to move quickly to provide a roof over their heads. Ask for abundant provision and the knowledge and trust that God’s timing is always perfect and exactly as it needs to be. Pray for a community of friends and family to gather around to support, encourage, and provide as the Lord leads.
Saturday, May 2
Pray for Jillian and those she works with as they minister to and serve communities directly affected by the wars and unrest in the Middle East. Pray for protection over her and the work she is involved in, for peace and safety in travels and communication with those in areas of danger. Ask for peace and healing in the land and in the hearts and lives of the people there.
Pray for Kaleigh and the decisions she is making, for the season of transition she is in. Ask for clarity, guidance, and peace as she trusts the Lord’s leading and follows Him wholeheartedly. Pray for a deeper faith as she sees how God is at work in and through her, for a joy and excitement for what comes next.
Pray for Tracey as their base ministry is changing, for an increase of faith as they trust the Lord and allow Him to lead them in places unknown to them. Pray for God’s provision and timing to be evident, for there to be hope and anticipation for what He is doing in their lives and ministry.
Pray for Louise to experience God’s healing and protection over her mental health, for her to be wise in decisions she makes and in how she spends her time. Ask for friends and family to come alongside her to support and encourage her, to offer guidance, and give counsel in decisions she makes to live at a healthy pace. Pray for peace and joy in her heart and mind as she walks in deeper ways with Jesus.
Pray for Cindy and her family as they feel at a crossroads in ministry, and are willing to wait on the Lord for His direction and timing. Pray for wisdom and discernment as they make decisions and follow as the Lord leads, for clarity and peace, and excitement as they see God move. Ask for their ears and hearts to be in tune with His voice, to hear clearly and follow obediently.
Sunday, May 3
Pray for the remaining Haven Retreats planned for 2026. Pray for the provision of time and resources for all the women yet to be involved - for those praying about volunteering and those desiring to attend, that God would be abundant in His provision, and for those He is setting aside a place for.
Pray for the Board of Directors of Azmera as they gather to plan and prepare for the future of this organization and the direction God is leading. Ask for there to be a unity of thought and focus, and a deep trust in God as He leads and speaks over this ministry. Pray for Christina as she leads this organization, for her to have a posture of humility and obedience as she continues to obey God as He leads her and continues to trust her with the work and calling He has given her.
Finally, Thank You! Thank you, as always, for your partnership through prayer for the women involved and impacted by our Spring Haven Retreats. We are grateful for the time you have spent with the Lord in prayer on behalf of our sisters and friends around the world. Prayer changes things; you included!
