Azmera SENEGAL 2026 | Prayer Calendar (February 8 - February 14)

The Azmera Senegal Haven Retreat is about to be underway this week! We would love to invite you to join us in praying for both the women attending and serving during this time. Please feel free to pray for the things that catch your eye from the suggestions below, and may you be blessed as you encounter the Lord during your times of prayer.

Sunday, February 8

The Senegal Connection Crew is on their way to Africa! Pray for them to have safe travels, to rest well, and to stay healthy and alert on the way. Pray they would make their connections and, as they begin to connect with one another, would find a unique sense of community, unity, and joy. Ask that as they prepare to give of themselves over the next week plus a few days, that they would be filled with a deeper awareness of the Holy Spirit’s voice and would know God’s presence and protection over them.

Pray for G and her family as they continue to adjust to new rhythms and routines after a time of significant changes in their family dynamics, ministry, and living situations. Pray they would continue to give one another grace and show compassion and kindness. Ask for peace and trust in their hearts and minds as they support their daughter’s first year of college from afar.

Pray for T and her husband as they adjust to the newness of life and ministry in Dakar. Ask for wisdom and discernment as they build relationships and seek to love the people around them. Pray for safety and protection and a continued sense of God’s presence and leading in their lives.

Pray for L as she desires to deepen her relationship with God and allow Him to lead and use her in her ministry and relationships. Pray she would be sensitive to the voice and leading of the Holy Spirit and would see the fruit of His work in and through her. Pray for her to be open and willing to receive the good gifts God has in store for her at this Retreat, that she would be able to soak up the care and ministry offered to her.

Monday, February 9

Pray for the hotel rooms and spaces that will be utilized during this Haven Retreat; for there to be a clearness and cleanness of the air and atmosphere of anything that is not of the Lord. Pray for protection over each space that will be used. Pray for the hotel and service staff that will encounter the women during their time there, that they would see God and know would be drawn towards Him because of His presence with the women.

Pray for S and her husband as they make big decisions about their future – with family, ministry, and location. Pray they would be intentional about making time to be still in the Lord’s presence and listen to His voice as He leads and gives direction and peace. Ask for them to be united in heart and mind as they move forward, for there to be confidence and hope in what the Lord has for them.

Pray for D as she looks forward to this Retreat and the time to get away and reconnect with herself, the Lord, and the community waiting to be found. Ask that as she recognizes the hard season of life she’s in - mother to three young children, learning a new culture and language, and still be present for the others around her - that she will see how God is meeting her where she is and will give her tools and encouragement needed. Pray for a deep sense of renewal, protection, and excitement for getting back into her routine when the Retreat is over.

Pray for V as she gets back into the swing of things in her country of service, and especially as she pursues medical ministry. Pray she would be diligent and focused on the things in front of her, while making time to connect with the Lord and allow Him to lead and guide her steps. Ask that she would be filled with joy and a new hope for the things yet to come in this year and season of life.

Ask for her to make time to spend with the Lord on a regular basis to connect with Him and allow Him to fill her cup up as she eagerly looks for ways to give of herself to those around her.

Pray for L as she struggles with being away from her adult kids and their children, coupled with menopause symptoms as well as parenting well her 14yo daughter, who is struggling emotionally. Pray for wisdom, compassion, and grace for herself as she walks through this season, that she would see the goodness of God around her and would know joy and shimmers of light and life in unexpected places. Ask for wisdom and discernment as they look ahead towards the end of their time in international ministry, that they would trust God’s timing and leading.

Pray for J to know her rootedness in and belovedness of Christ, especially in this season of transition and adjustment. Ask that as she gets used to a new culture, ministry, neighborhood, and team that she would recognize God’s presence with her and see how He is at work around her.

Pray for M and her husband as they recognize their exhaustion and weariness from ministry, along with missing their kids who are in the US. Pray for rest and renewal in unexpected ways, and for them each to see the gentleness, love, and compassion of God in specific ways. Ask for them to be attentive to the voice and leading of the Holy Spirit, for them to trust His leading and walk with confidence the path He sets before them, even when it may seem unfamiliar and different than expected.

Pray for J to have wisdom and discernment with a friend who is a single mother and is not afraid to ask for help financially, that she would be obedient to the Lord’s leading and would be comfortable and confident in knowing when to say “yes” and when to say “no.” Ask that she would be attentive to the Holy Spirit’s voice in this relationship, as she struggles to know how to best love and support this friend. Pray she would have good support and wise counsel around her, to be filled with compassion and kindness because of those who are around her and love her well.

Pray for Judy as she coordinates the details and logistics for this Retreat, for her to be sensitive and available to the needs of those around her, and to make decisions with confidence for the best interest of all those involved. Pray for wisdom and guidance for the staff and leadership, and for an outpouring of provision from the Lord. Ask for peace and trust within their family as they adjust to new family dynamics with their older child at University in the US.

Pray for protection and provision over this church and the families leading and attending.

Ask for her to make the time to intentionally be still in His presence and to lean in as He speaks, that she would hear with confidence and trust. Pray for her to have courage and boldness as she follows where He leads and gives her opportunities to move and speak in faith and obedience.

Friday, February 13

The Senegal Haven Retreat starts today! Pray for the Connection Crew as they gather to pray and make last-minute preparations together, for their time to be filled with encouragement, hope, and excitement for what God has in store over the next four days. Pray they would rest well and be refreshed and ready to welcome the women attending with love and open arms.

Pray for the women attending as they arrive at the hotel, that they would feel the warmth and welcoming presence of Jesus as they are greeted and ushered in. Ask that they would be aware of the presence of the Holy Spirit and would sense the holiness of the invitations awaiting them over the next few days. Pray that the initial time of gathering, teaching, worship, and connection would be filled with grace and love, and would prepare the way for what is yet to come.

Pray for Betsy as she steps into the role of teacher over the next few days, that she would be anchored in the Lord and would be attentive to His voice as He leads. Pray she would make time to connect with Him each day and to allow herself silence to make room for Him to speak and give her the direction she needs. Pray for Helen as she facilitates the Create Stations, that she would create an atmosphere of fun, creativity, and welcome for those who join her. Pray that the time the women spend in this room creating and connecting would be filled with joy, light, and hope given and shared.

Saturday, February 14

Pray for the first full day of the Haven Retreat, that as connections are made and stories, heartaches, and burdens are shared, there would be a sense of comfort and safety to do so. Ask that the Connection Crew would be sensitive not only to the Holy Spirit’s voice, but also to the needs of the women they are serving. Pray they would speak and share in boldness and love, but also heed the voice of Jesus to stay silent when there needs to be space for someone else to speak. Pray for a continued sense of unity and community among this group of women serving together.

Pray for the attendees as they connect and share with one another, for friendships to be formed and a sense of comfort to be known as they listen and share experiences and truth with one another. Pray for wisdom for each woman to know and act on what she needs in any given part of the day, whether that is to step away and interact with Jesus on her own or to be in the presence of the community as a whole.

Pray for Annette and Charlene as they serve the women through one-on-one counseling. Pray they would be attentive to the leading of the Lord and would allow Him to guide each session, for them to trust His voice and know that He can see the overall picture. Ask that they would return to God the things they hear and witness at the end of each day, and would not allow themselves to be burdened by things that are not theirs to carry.

Pray for Suzanne, Christine, Keesha, Susan, Beth, Lori, and Carrie as they minister through the gift of pedicures. Pray for a team mindset of encouragement and community as they work together to love on the women through the work of their hands. Ask that as they interact with each woman who sits before them, they would allow space for the Lord to speak words of truth and love. Pray that even as they serve those around them, they would encounter Jesus and would be challenged, changed, and know His goodness to a deeper level.

Pray for Stacey as she ministers through the gift of haircuts -and styes-that she would delight in connecting with the women and giving them a tangible act of God’s love. Pray that the work of her hands and the words of her mouth would point the women to the glory and goodness of God, that as they leave her room/presence, they would leave feeling lighter, blessed, and encouraged in ways they didn’t know they needed.

Pray for Renee as she loves the women through the gift of massage, that she will see directly how God is blessing the work of her hands. Ask that God would give her courage and boldness to speak words of truth and life in a spirit of love and obedience, that she would trust God as she hears His voice, and would come to know Him in deeper, more intimate ways through her time serving here.
