    SPEAKER

    Christy worked in Kazakhstan for 7 years, sharing the gospel with college students and working on a new scripture translation and discipleship materials for Russian-speaking Central Asians from a Muslim background. Christy returned home "temporarily" to study at seminary and unexpectedly got married, raised 3 kids, and now serves as Director of Women's Ministry at her church in Wisconsin, where her husband is a pastor of worship and missions.

    RETREAT SPECIALIST

    Sarah brings years of global worker experience from her service in Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, and most recently in Ecuador. Sarah's life journey, marked by valleys of challenges, has cultivated in her a profound trust in the Lord. This trust, in turn, has endowed her with a natural ability to inspire hope, facilitating growth and transformation in every person she encounters. Sarah is a proud mom of two teenagers, she finds joy by taking them on adventures.

  • Holly Carter

    Holly spent the first 12 years of her life in Kazakhstan and now lives in Denver, CO, working as a pediatric ICU nurse. Having grown up as a Third Culture Kid (TCK), she is passionate about mentoring others with similar experiences. For over 11 years, she has been involved with mk2mk, an organization that supports global worker kids and their families. Holly finds purpose in helping TCKs navigate transitions and embrace their unique perspectives. 

  • Nan Goodenow

    Nan has a desire to help others, especially women, to discover a Christ-centered perspective in the midst of life's circumstances. She has learned to fall back into the loving, faithful arms of Jesus after the loss of her 3 ½-year-old son, Zachery, and the loss of her husband and best friend Gary. She has seen how God “restores the years the locust have eaten” and discovered the abundant faithfulness and kindness of Jesus. She is overjoyed by the graciousness of God who blended together a family built on Christ of Yours, Mine, and Someone else's along with Max and Mabel her sweet grandchildren! 

  • GiGi Horrell

    Gi Gi is co-founder with her husband, Stan, of MissioCare Collective, a Member Care Ministry working with Global Kingdom workers. She has a deep passion to see women flourish in all God has created them to be and to see Kingdom workers remain healthy so that the Good News is proclaimed throughout the Nations. Gi Gi was a small business owner for 28 years and is a speaker, Bible teacher, seeker of a deeper prayer life with Jesus, wife, mother, and grandmother. 

  • Elise Pistor

    Elise loves Jesus and delights in encouraging women toward a passionate walk with Christ. She lives in Dallas, TX with her husband Jeff and they have three children, a daughter-in-law, and a grandson, Brave. Elise homeschooled for 21 years and is a professional pilot. She recently completed her master's degree in International Relations and enjoys flying the 767. Elise cherishes her early mornings on her front porch where she delights in meeting with Jesus. 

  • Cheryl Schuerman

    Cheryl is a world traveler and served as a global worker for 10 years in Central Asia with her late husband, Robert. She lives in Georgia with her mom and spends most of her spare time traveling coast to coast visiting her 7 children and 10 grandchildren! She is a foodie and loves to experience new foods and explore different cultures! She is passionate about serving and loving women who live and work cross-culturally. 

  • Tori Schuessler

    Tori lives in Houston, TX with her husband of 11 years, Derek, and their two boys, Deacon and Grayson. With a background in Marriage and Family Therapy, she looks forward to stepping more fully into that calling as their youngest begins kindergarten in the fall. In the meantime, she finds great joy in serving those who are giving their lives to see the kingdom of God advance among the nations. Tori also enjoys all things crafty—sewing, quilting, crocheting, and most recently, gardening. 

  • Andi Walters

    Andi's journey sharing the love of Jesus with women began years ago with MOPS. She and her husband Bob have "retired" from education and live in Centralia, WA. Andi has a passion for the Word of God and leads a women's Bible study group. She is involved in the women's and global workers ministry at her church. She recently took a new role as Spiritual Foundations Director for Missiocare Collective. Andi and Bob have led numerous teams to Mexico, building homes with Homes of Hope. She has three grown boys, a daughter-in-law, and delights in her role as a new grandma to Lawson. 

  • Patti Weber

    Patti is a retired Registered Nurse and lives in the beautiful Pacific Northwest in Corvallis, Oregon with her wonderful husband, Ed. Together they have 7 children and 9 grand children. She has been on many Azmera Haven retreats so she is excited to be able to support and encourage the women who will come for this time of refreshment. Patti loves cooking and trying new foods, spending time with her family and friends, and being outdoors in God's amazing creation. 

  • Angie Weigelt

    Angie and her family have served in Romania since 2008. She and Kevin have been married for 25 years, and she has two adult children whom she homeschooled. Angie is delighted to volunteer with Azmera after having attended Azmera retreats. She has a background in Marriage and Family Therapy and a heart to bring the light, rest, hope, and healing of Christ to the weary international workers of the world. Angie enjoys cooking, deep conversations with friends, photography, reading, puzzles, and hiking the Carpathian Mountains..
