SPEAKER - Brooke Nungesser

Brooke Nungesser told her husband on her wedding day that she would eat bark. Not literally, of course, but she assumed their lives of adventure would include living in a tent, climbing high mountains, and living off of the land. They moved to Poland instead...This life has included starting an international humanitarian NGO, becoming a pastor’s wife, and watching her Polish-born son enter heaven and return to them. Twice...Along the way, as she has grown up and grown wiser, Brooke has come to one conclusion, we can love people here on earth so much it hurts, but it all comes down to loving God first...Brooke is currently pursuing her Master’s in Journalism, building a Field of Grace, raising 3 bilingual children, and trying with all her might to keep humor at the forefront —- you know, for survival. She loves encouraging women around the world and can’t wait for Azmera in Thailand!
WORSHIP LEADER - Debi Moore
Partner with Debi:
Debi loves to sing and make a "joyful noise" unto the Lord! She has been singing since she was 3 years old, and has graduated from her teenage "hair band" days of the '80s to now leading praise and worship! Debi has been involved in short term mission ministry work around the world for several years and has a deep desire to "serve the servant" abroad. She loves to be involved in women's ministry conferences; teaching, speaking, encouraging, listening, praying for, and of course, leading women into God's courts with praise, where we can find contentment and God's great joy!
Debi and her husband live in Canon City, Colorado and own an excavation and wildland firefighting company. They are co-founders of Pearls of Education Foundation, a charity that provides education and restoration to Liberian students. Debi is the co-author of the children's book "A Girl Like Me."
RETREAT MANAGER - Britta Shaub
Britta has a heart for women to feel seen, known, and loved by Christ and His Church. She is thrilled to join Azmera Haven Retreats to encourage women who spend their lives encouraging others in the gospel! Britta served as a missionary to university students in Athens, Greece and loved the difficult challenge of dying to self and learning to communicate God’s love cross-culturally. Britta is a creative small business owner, yoga teacher and foster mom, living in Fort Worth with her husband, Kenny.

RETREAT MANAGER (onsite) - Judy Armstrong
Judy enjoys using her skills to listen and provide encouragement to women in the ministry field as they fulfill their ministry. She is finishing up obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Leadership and Ministry. She lives in Vancouver Washington with a wonderful dog named Buddy.

Alicia Aragon
Alicia lives in Albuquerque, NM where she is on staff at her local church. She graduated from the University of New Mexico with her B.A in Psychology and received her M.A in Marriage and Family Counseling from Liberty University in Virginia. Alicia is passionate about serving Jesus and using her gifts to inspire and encourage other women to find their purpose and value in Christ. She has had the privilege of planning, facilitating and attending several international trips and is excited for Azmera in Thailand!

Anna Aragon
Anna lives in Albuquerque, NM where she was born and raised. She has been married to her husband for 30 years and has two adult children. She has been a licensed cosmetologist for 37 years, in which she started and ran her own business for 26 years. She enjoys serving her community by donating her talent and craft for those in need, in addition to assisting with organizing and fundraising events for various non-profit organizations. In her free time, she loves to cook, read and draw. Anna is excited to join Azmera in Thailand, and is looking forward to seeing what God does!

Charlene Benson
Charlene is passionate about travel and helping others improve their lives. She’s been to all 50 states and several countries for pleasure, church festivals, and missions. They have two sons (26 & 23), two daughters-in-law, and 2.5 grandchildren (3rd due in June). She and her husband have been involved with Adventures in Missions since their son did the World Race in 2011. Since becoming a counselor in 2007, she developed the Ditch People© model and Targeted Negative Belief Replacement© TNBR. She enjoys sharing the insights she learned about relationships and assisting in the healing journey of others. What better way to do that then impact women who are impacting the world?

Karla Childs
Karla is a retired social studies and English teacher. After being overseas with the DoD Education Activity for thirty years, she and her husband moved to Manchester, TN, where she taught Adult Education for ten years. She has led women's Bible studies for many years, as well as participated in church choirs. In her free time, Karla enjoys reading, water aerobics, and puzzles. Karla and Mike are blessed with eight delightful grandchildren; their son's family lives in Nairobi and their daughter's family is in Knoxville.

Sandra Codova
Sandra Cordova lives in Albuquerque NM. She is married with 3 adult children and 4 beautiful grandchildren. She considers it a privilege and a blessing to be able to serve and bless others with the talents that God has given her being a licensed cosmetologist for 25 years. She works for Southwest Airlines in customer service and absolutely loves it. She volunteers cooking for the Ronald McDonald House for families who have ill children. At her local church, she's a greeter before service and a co-leader for a women's Titus study. Spending time with her family and friends is her favorite past time.

Tary Dalpini
Tary Dalpini was born and raised in Maryland, USA. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.A. in Politics/English Lit. and a M.S. in Management. She’s been married to her husband, Tom for 34 years. They have 3 grown children, 2 granddaughters and 2 dogs. She works for Youth for Christ in Baltimore as an event coordinator. She has been on several international mission trips helping with construction projects and serving in the areas of teaching & hospitality. She loves to paint, knit and travel.

Robin Dean
Robin Dean is a beloved mother and former homeschool teacher of 3 sons (Chase 24, Samuel 21, Elliott 18), wife of husband Eric (30 years coming up in May), and most importantly a child of the Most High God after receiving Christ in a Backyard Bible club at age 6. She grew up in Oregon, loves the Pacific Northwest, and somehow let Eric convince her to settle in Central Texas. She's a licensed Physical Therapist, clinic owner, Holy Yoga instructor, and veteran of two previous Azmera Haven retreats. Robin looks forward to serving women in ministry in Thailand and surrounding countries. To God Be the Glory !

Heather Fowler
Heather Fowler is the Co-Founder of Gracious Ministries along with her husband, Alan, of 29 years. Heather met Alan at the University of New Mexico where she got a degree in Business Administration and Education. Heather and Alan have been in Marriage Ministry for 30 years and Heather has authored several books and Bible studies, while teaching and speaking to women and men across the country and around the world. Some of her most precious ministry opportunities have been spent encouraging women in their marriages. Heather is the proud mother of McKenzie, 24, and Collin, 21.

Dawn Freeland
Dawn Freeland is a multimedia artist living in Dallas, TX. She grew up in East Tennessee surrounded by music, art, and storytelling. Dawn has had the opportunity to live and minister in the Far East and Eastern Europe. She believes God is the ultimate Creator and she is but an artist reflecting Him through art, hospitality and the encouragement of others.
Although her formal education was in Nursing, she studied art in Japan, Virginia and at the Maryland Institute of Art. She had the opportunity to study Art and Trauma Healing at Dallas International University and is honored to be able to use art to encourage women in ministry and in their relationship with Jesus.

Barb Hastings
Barb lives outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and has been married to her husband for 47 years. They have 2 adult married children and 7 grandsons. She has been retired as a nurse for the past 9 years. She has a desire to serve others and has been on the care team and children’s ministry at her church. This will be the first international and first mission trip for her. No opportunity or struggle is by chance and she is excited to see how the Lord will use and bless her in this way.

Beth loves her Savior; spending quality time together is priceless. She can’t get enough following Jesus on various adventures from her Bakersfield California home to Ireland, Texas, Hungary and back again. Through 30 years of marriage, 4 kids, multiple callings, she has focused on encouraging and loving the least of these. Bringing hope for the hopeless, loving the forgotten, and touching the sick in Jesus Name is who she is.

Janie Lippincott
Janie has lived in many places, moving more than twenty times with her husband and four daughters while Marv served as a Navy Chaplain. She now lives in Western PA as a widow and retired nurse. Traveling to visit her four married daughters and 16 grandchildren brings her much joy. Her ever changing life has taught her to be flexible, to trust in God and to experience God's faithful provision in a myriad of circumstances.

Tori Sullivan
Tori is relatively new to the global workers world but 2 years ago on a trip to Jordan, she felt like God had finally shown her her calling and where her heart belongs. Since then, she has had the privilege to be involved in various ways and has seen God work in ways she never imagined possible. On past trips, it has been pouring into and loving on long-term global workers that has become such a joy and something that seems to be lost in our world today. She is excited about this opportunity to do just that and to be involved in the beautiful ministry of Azmera. Thank you so much for your support!
