Today our speaker, Carey, talked about being still to listen to the voice of our Good Shepherd and traps that keep us from hearing His voice. I feel like “listening” is a good theme word, to summarize today’s retreat.
We listened to the sound of water outside our meeting room and the sound of worshipping together inside our meeting room. We listened to each other’s stories and prayers for each other. We took time to be still and listen to our Shepherd.
We heard the murmur of women enjoying one another as they crafted and received pedicures. Counselors listened to attendees’ hearts. We listened to birds and rain and frogs.
We listened to laughter joy as we celebrated each attendee's birthday tonight. And the amazing thing is when you listen this much, you get to go to bed with a very full heart.
