Uganda Prayer Calendar: February 19 - 25
Greetings, Friends! Thanks for continuing to faithfully pray with us for the Uganda Haven Retreat. Please continue to pray as the Lord leads you to; we hope that your time of prayer for these women and this retreat is as sweet to your spirit as it is to our Father’s. May you be blessed and encouraged this week as you step into the throne room on behalf of this work at hand.
February 19: Pray for-
D – As she spends time with family and friends on a short visit home, ask God to richly bless and encourage her, to give her new perspective and outlook on her ministry in Kenya. Pray for safety and good health as she travels and readjusts back to life in Kenya, that God would continue to meet her where she is and shower abundance, life and hope in every corner of her being.
C – As she manages the balance of raising three children with work and ministry, that she would not lose sight of herself and who God is calling her to be. Ask that she would see the time set aside for her to meet with God and be refreshed and renewed in spirit and mind. Ask God to wipe away any thoughts of guilt or worry that she’s not enough for the tasks and relationships at hand, but instead to fill her mind and spirit with the Truth that God will equip her as needed, that what He wants most from her is her whole heart. Pray for blessings to flow in tangible ways to remind her of how loved she is by her Father in heaven.
Pray for the Connection Crew as they spend time with one another, sharing parts of who they are as they become united as a team. Ask that conversations be filled with gentleness and compassion, and that no one will speak out of turn, even from a desire to encourage and uplift. Ask that there be adequate time and space to rest and be alone, as the next several days will be filled to overflowing with interactions and giving. Pray for a hedge of protection over this team.
Pray for the hotel staff that will be interacting with all the women at the Haven Retreat. Ask God to plant and water seeds in each of the people who will be serving the Azmera women, that they would be protected as they unknowingly encounter the living God. Ask God to set a guard around the hotel grounds, the rooms, and the spaces where the women will be meeting, as holy work will be taking place in the hearts of those who know God, and those who have yet to meet Him. Pray that His glory will be over all, as all the praise and honor will be given to Him because He alone is worthy.
February 20: Pray for the Connection Crew today as they have one last full day of preparation.
Pray for the Worship team – Sandi and Ruth, as they prepare to usher the women into God’s presence through song and prayer, that they would lay aside their agenda and plans, and lean wholly into God’s presence and His voice. They would be humble and available for however God wants to use them.
For the speaker, Grace, that God would fill her heart and mouth with His words, and His alone. That she would walk in confidence in the story God has given her for this time and place, that she would bow before Him alone as her Author and King.
For the counselors – Nan and Karen, that they would quiet their hearts and minds to listen with attentiveness to what God is speaking to and through them, to each woman they will meet with. That their hearts would be set on Christ alone, and in this they would be filled with joy and compassion as they interact with the women who sit before them.
For the hairstylist and massage therapists - Shirley, Kelly and Telly, that God would bless the work of their hands, as they give tangible love to the women who they will physically touch. Ask that they would listen to the Holy Spirit as He leads and directs their conversation, that they would not speak out of turn, but every word would be filled with compassion and love.
For the ones giving pedicures and filling in any other gaps – Alison, Tracey, Beth and Carolyn, that God would give them the strength and energy they need as they give of themselves physically, spiritually and emotionally. Pray for grace and truth to be evident in each of them as they love on their sisters with compassion and a heart of service.
Pray for Christina and Judy, as they oversee this retreat and all the details and bumps that come with their positions, for them to show grace to everyone they interact with, to remain focused on the Kingdom, and for them to be loved and served on in unexpected ways in return.
February 21: The Haven Retreat begins today! Pray for the women who are attending as they make their way to the hotel, that they would be given safety and peace as they travel. Pray against any spirits of fear, doubt, anxiety or hesitation that may be on the women as they leave home/families/ministries to partake of self-care and being loved on and served in the name of Jesus. Ask that as each woman is greeted by the Azmera team she feels an overwhelming sense of welcome and belonging, and the all-encompassing goodness and love of God. Pray for hearts to be filled with anticipation for what God is going to do and how He is going to reveal Himself to these sweet women as they gather together in His Name. Ask that there be laughter and tears and that each emotion be greeted tenderly and recognized as holy.
February 22: Pray for the first full day of the Haven Retreat to be filled with all kinds of goodness, life, laughter, revelations and powerful movements of the Holy Spirit as the women join in worship and teaching under the covering of God. Ask that the conversations following the teaching are rich, are filled with truth, and the spaces they take place in would be sanctified and holy, safe places for each woman to share openly and honestly. Pray that every woman gathered there would know how delighted the Father is with each of His daughters, that as they participate in the activities offered, they would encounter God and know His love in unique and significant ways. Pray that God would continue softening hearts and breaking down areas that have been held away from Him, for whatever reasons. Pray each woman attending would feel delighted in as she is loved on and served.
February 23: Pray for the hard work of the gospel to continue taking place, for areas in hearts that may have
become callused to be softened and opened to the tender healing of the Father, who longs to bring life and restore what has been lost. Pray for the women who are serving, for them to continue to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit as He leads, for their tongues to be filled with the power of the Spirit, with boldness, courage and love. Pray for joy and laughter and delight as friendships are made and a common spirit of unity and worship is embraced.
February 24: Today is the last day of the Haven Retreat. Pray for things to wrap up well, for hearts to continue to be filled and refreshed. Ask that the speaker and the worship team listen attentively to the Holy Spirit and would be willing to step aside as He leads. Pray for a continued atmosphere of worship and unity, that each woman would be filled to overflowing. Pray for joy where there has been sorrow and mourning, for a fresh filling of the Holy Spirit as He continues to meet each heart right where it is at.
Pray for the Connection Crew – that they would continue to be given the energy and rest they need as they continue to pour out of themselves, out of what God has given and equipped them with. Ask that all things that have been shared, taught, given with love and received be sealed with the power of the blood of Jesus; ask that anything spoken or witnessed/observed/partaken that is not of God be wiped away from each heart and mind in the Name of Jesus. Ask that each woman present at this Haven Retreat be given a glimpse of the glory of God as their time together ends.
February 25: Pray for the women who attended the Haven Retreat as they return home to families, jobs, ministries and everything they put on hold to attend this retreat. Pray for safe travels and an increased awareness of the Holy Spirit as they jump back into the things they left behind. Pray for protection over each woman as she has walks back into life, having encountered God in a specific way the past four days, that she would walk in grace and strength against anything in her path that is not of God.
Pray for the Connection Crew as they debrief and rest after having given so much of themselves the past week. Ask that there be time and space to breathe and reflect in a natural manner. Pray for grace, understanding and patience to be given in great measures among this team, as they will be tired and needing refreshment of energy, peace and quiet. Ask that there be a continued sense of team and joy as they share the stories of how they saw God move and work in the lives of the women that they interacted with.
