As the women processed their lives we held their stories. There is something about being away from home and away from “the norm” that frees women up to share deeply. Both attendees and volunteers shared their personal stories, encouraging and building up one another. There were stories of tragedy, trauma, abuse, abandonment, adultery, fear, and shame. There were deep wounds and spiritual shackles over many souls before God stepped into their world and revealed His grace, mercy, compassion, endless love, peace, joy, and hope.
In merely twenty-four hours these women have already received rest, refreshment, rejuvenation, compassion, healing, break-throughs, candy, chocolate, gifts, and celebration!
Last night we were able to dance freely with the shackles of guilt and shame off our feet, our minds, and our souls. And, dance we did!
